BROWNIES/GIRL SCOUTS VOTE ANIMAL FAIRY CHARITIES
Brownies, Fairies and Cookies Unite For a Cause
Lake Country Brownie/Girl Scout Troop #2990 unanimously voted Animal Fairy Charities as recipient of proceeds from this year's cookie sales.
Franklin, WI (Animal Fairy Charities) October 22, 2009...Each year, Girl Scouts of America gives a portion of the profits from their ever-popular cookie sale back to the individual troops to use as they see fit. Many of the troops use the proceeds to creatively "give back" in some way. "When presented with the many options of good causes to help out this year, the girls in our troop were immediately drawn to animals," stated troop leader Meg Weishar. "And taking care of animals is part of the Brownie/Girl Scout credo. We did a bit of research on local organizations that help animals and found Animal Fairy Charities."
Animal Fairy Charities is a non-profit organization designed to help animals by supporting and acknowledging the people that are out in the trenches everyday, caring for companion animals in need...at shelters, rescues and the like. AFC raises and distributes funds to those shelters and rescues in need, largely through donations and the sale of their children's book and pewter Animal Fairy ornaments, designed to be given in recognition of those who love and care for animals...or the "animal fairies" of the world.
The organization also recently launched a television show to aid in their mission. Animal Advocate Television is a show dedicated to raising awareness around issues relating to animals...fostering and adoption programs, legislation, tours of shelters and rescues and teaching children compassion at an early age.
"We were delighted to learn of the troop's interest in helping the animals." said AFC founder, Deb Lopez. "It's perfectly in line with our mission at so many levels. We're grateful for their thoughts...and their donation will go a long way towards helping our companion animals in need."

Bella's Story, by Animal Fairy Charities
Help Us Help Bella... |
When Bella was surrendered to Happy Endings no kill animal shelter, it was discovered that something was very wrong with her front paws. Someone had tried to de-claw Bella and broke her front paws in the process. Because of a caring citizen, Bella will hopefully have a chance at a normal life. An orthopedic specialist says Bella has feelings in her toes but the bones never healed back together resulting in her paws flipping forward and backward. Please help us help Bella get her surgery and give her a second chance. DONATE FOR BELLA |
